Applications are invited for the inaugural cohort for a new and innovative fellowship scheme for healthcare scientists.

The Chief Scientific Officer’s Clinical Fellow Scheme offers healthcare scientists an unparalleled experience outside of a clinical setting, to develop a range of essential skills in leadership, management, strategy, project management, and health policy required for aspiring leaders.

The scheme aims to identify and develop those who present with the potential to develop as clinical leaders of the future, to create a cadre of aspiring leaders to champion healthcare science and to increase clinical leadership capacity and capability within the profession.

The inaugural cohort will be hosted by the Office of the Chief Scientific Officer in NHS England and NHS Improvement and will lead on projects that contribute to national priorities. Fellowship posts are offered on a less than full time basis and run for 12 months.

The scheme is ideal for healthcare scientists who are keen to increase their leadership capabilities, that have had limited leadership opportunities and have not held a senior leadership role in healthcare science previously.

The deadline to apply is 10am on Monday 26 April 2021. See the FMLM website for full application and eligibility requirements.
