Dear Colleagues
To help address some of the issues with workforce shortfall specifically within the area of Echocardiography, SCST and the British Society of Echocardiography have been working with NHS England to address Standard 5 of the seven day services clinical standards which specifies that hospital inpatients should have scheduled seven day access to diagnostic services to diagnostics services of which echocardiography is one.
One of the proposed objectives of this group is to influence current posts and as such we have put together some useful documents to encourage the uptake of the recruitment and retention payments as well as a guide to utilising overseas recruitment mechanisms via the shortage occupations list.
